What are the benefits of Braided Brake Lines?
In every hydraulic braking system, the standard rubber flexible brake hoses are the weakest point, prone to damage from corrosion and abrasion, and often suffering from expansion under hard braking.Goodridge high performance brake lines consist of a PTFE inner, with a stainless steel outer braid. How to install Braided Brake Lines
Below is a quick-start guide to installing upgraded braided stainless steel brake hoses.

1 | Order the Correct Kit for your Vehicle |
Find and purchase the correct brake line kit for your vehicle using our handy kit-finder or consult your nearest Goodridge dealer. Once you receive the hoses, offer them up to the vehicle to check for correct length & fitment. | |
2 | Remove Old Brake LinesCarefully remove the old rubber OEM brake lines & fluid, ensuring no fluid is spilled on to paintwork or vulnerable surfaces. |
3 | Route and Install New Brake Lines |
Route and install your replacement braided stainless steel brake lines, ensuring all washers and chassis mounts are used where required, and hoses are kink-free. Torque fittings & banjo bolts to the spec specified in your kit box. | |
4 | Bleed the Brake SystemBleed the vehicle’s brake system with fresh brake fluid. A vacuum bleeder or Goodridge Speed-Bleeders may prove useful for this. |

Why are braking upgrades important?
Standard OEM brakes are generally designed for cars with standard engines / power outputs, undertaking routine tasks such as the daily commute or school run. However, OEM components can be put under a lot of strain during performance driving or when paired with increased power outputs, which is where brake upgrades and braided stainless steel brake lines come in to their own. Upgraded brakes can not only take the strain of hard usage, but also fare much better during prolonged use. The greater efficiency of upgraded pads, discs and callipers is perfectly complimented with a set of stainless steel brake lines.
Unlike rubber brake lines, stainless steel braided lines don’t expand when braking pressure is applied, resulting in the user experiencing a much more positive and consistent pedal feel, with reduced sponginess and brake fade. Braking upgrades not only improve safety on the road, but allow the driver to stop quicker on the track. Dramatically increased pedal feel can give you the confidence to brake later and harder on corner entry, helping to cut those few valuable seconds off your lap times.
